UDL Guideline 2.5 - Provide options for language, mathematical expressions, and symbols: Illustrate through multiple media. Guizmos is a program that has been used in k-12 classrooms. It offers students the opportunity to experience information using videos and diagrams. In this app, the student can manipulate data and see the effect of those changes on the concept in question (i.e., rotation of the planets around the sun).
General Critique
While the app is free on a trial run, most schools purchase the program for general use in all classes. For most students this allows a variety of ways in which the information is presented which can increase understanding in all learners that goes beyond the textbook.
