Voice Dream Reader

Get it here.
Cost: $9.99

UDL Guideline 1.1- Offer ways of customizing the display of information
Voice Dream Reader displays information in a flexible format so that the perceptual features (size of text, contrast between background text, highlighting, or other visual content) can be varied. This provides options for increasing the perceptual clarity of information for both the needs and preferences of the learner. It also has built-in features such as dictionary, bookmarks, and a built in web search bar that is extremely user friendly.

General Critique
Voice Dream Reader can be used as an assistive tool, for educational purposes, or simply for pleasure. There is also a small in-app purchase (currently 99 cents) to open up access to Bookshare (account required), which means you could load one of many classics from Bookshare, set down the iPad, and listen to it at home or on a drive.
