UDL Guideline 8.4 - Increase mastery-oriented feedback
Duolingo helps users learn a foreign language for fun and for free! The user gets immediate feedback with a sound and a visual after each response, which helps build proficiency and fluency with each use. After successful completion of a round, the user earns a lingot, which can be collected and traded for supplemental lessons or fun virtual prizes.
General Critique
Duolingo is designed well and easy to navigate. The vocabulary categories are shown in picture and text form and the app practices all aspects of learning language. The feedback is prominatly displayed on the screen and lets the user know how to improve if s/he made a mistake.
