UDL Guideline 3.1 Provide options for comprehension - Activates or supply background knowledge. This app provides a brief introduction to many of the national parks. While the initial app is free, specific park apps can be purchased for $1.99 each or $13.99 for the entire set. This is an excellent geography app and could be the basis for a virtual field trip which can be tied to curriculum standards related to the different regions of the United States.
General Critique
I think that this app demonstrates the essential role of technology in UDL by providing the immediacy of information that students can acquire using these apps. Printed materials take years to hit the bookshelves and things change in the process. Technology is able to reflect the most current information.
