UDL Guideline 3.1 - Provide options for comprehension: Activate or supply background knowledge. This app provides intriguing images and a timeline that will help students develop their background knowledge before beginning to address this subject in class. I think that middle school students would benefit from this app before studying American History.
General Critique
UDL propositions assert that learning does not occur naturally. Students often need more information before they are ready to address such topics in the classroom. By supplying important background knowledge, students will be more open and able to understand the deeper concepts from that period of time in history.
