UDL Guideline 8.1 - Heighten salience of goals and objectives
The Cargo-Bot app challenges students as they program a robot using Codea for iPad to move crates. Students accomplish their goals advancing through levels ranging from easy to impossible. Students may set personal goals but need to sustain their attention and effort in order to be successful. This educational game provides prompts or hints to support the students as they reach their goals. Each level is divided into lesser challenges that encourage students to persist and sustain to reach a longer range goal.  The division of levels, tutorials, and prompts provide scaffolding to help learners stay motivated.
General Critique
This app provides 36 puzzle games on various levels using Codea to teach the skill of programming a robot as students move boxes for the shortest path using sequencing and complex configurations. The player should view all of the tutorials and be prepared to spend some time accomplishing the rewarding challenges.
