Star walk allows users to point their tablet at any part of their environment in order to see what the arrangement of stars, planets, and other celestial objects is. When an object is selected, more information is presented, in textual, video, or an outside link for the user to further investigate. This allows learners to visualize their environment in a way that is otherwise near impossible.
General Critique
By providing a modicum of user control, this application goes beyond simple digital replacement of non-digital curriculum. The user is able to discover more about the night sky in a more interactive way than can ever be provided in the traditional classroom, making this application a move toward a learner-centered classroom.
