UDL Guideline 8.3.  Foster collaboration and community.  Older students enjoy the opportunity to truly make an impact in someone's life especially if it is someone they know.  A virtuous goal will attract a number of students/peers who are willing to help another person out.  Former students of mine formed a site to support a homeless valedictorian from Jacksonville, FL so that he could attend Florida State University.

General Critique
I think that authenticity is key to the experience using UDL and IPad apps.  In this case, the students are not only experiencing homelessness within their environments; but, as a group, are trying to find solutions to the problem.  As educators, it would be important to instruct students in the proper use of social media and potential dangers that can be avoided.
